What do you mean by Felony?

If a person is convicted of a crime for which the penalty is one year or longer in prison or death, he or she committed a crime. United States, people who commit the most serious crimes such as murder, armed robbery, or rape, are called criminals. In some cases, the crime cannot be a crime if a certain amount of money is stolen, if the defendant can be convicted of possession of criminal intent, or if someone dies during a crime, an invasion of home, is engaged. Also, sometimes a crime is considered a crime if the defendant is brought to the prison or penitentiary. If the defendant is taken to prison, the crime may be considered a crime instead.

If a person is found guilty of committing a crime, he or she will have tighter restrictions on their lifestyle of a person found guilty of committing a lesser crime. For example, in some jurisdictions, a person convicted of a crime cannot serve on a jury or vote. In other countries, a criminal cannot be employed as a teacher, doctor or caregiver. In addition, criminals cannot legally possess a firearm. If the person is convicted of a sex crime or other violent crimes, many countries need that the felons register as an offender.
